These are strawberry lip balms made with beeswax, Shea butter, sweet almond oil, vitamin e oil strawberry flavouring as part of my most recent 100 balm order.

Yesterday was a success, both my Jingle Bell and Green Candy Apple wax melts are now available in my Etsy store

The Christmas clear out is coming along - I'm up to 4 black sacks of clothes ready for donation to charity and I now even have 1 drawer completely empty. I feel like maybe I was hoarding clothes that I was not going to fit back into again 🙈

Today's plan is to start in the wardrobe and sort through all the 'important' paperwork I keep there, and clear my crap shelf off too. Might sand down a section of wall that needs repainting too.

I have some orders which were packed up last night ready to drop today - a couple came in from my socials so thank you 🥰 Black Friday week is definitely keeping me busy so far!

Oh it is grotty out there today! The wet weather has been here all weekend and doesn't look like it's going anywhere today.

Showing off another one of my candles today which is included in my 25% sale.

My Santa's Grotto candle is created using clean burning soy wax and brings the spirit of Christmas to the room. Evoking images of the warm workshop where Santa's elves are working their stripey socks off to make all those toys for the children

Warm cinnamon, sweet apple and plum all sit on a base of wholesome vanilla for a well rounded fwstive fragrance. And to add some extra magic, the candle is infused with gold mica powder which creates a shimmer as the candle burns

I did my accounting at 3am this morning while feeding the baby 😂 seemed like something productive to do since I was awake. Hoping to get some photography and listing done this morning since it's only a half day at school on a Friday

Been busy in the workshop aka my kitchen today making some new wax melts to add to the collection. The colours in these Heather scented melts really pop and look beautiful to me, what do you think?

Who doesn't love a bit of shimmer and sparkle? Check out the beauty on this test burn, Wick was slightly off centre and candle has been in an alcove so air flow not even, hence the wonky wax pool BUT pleased with the scent throw and shimmer!

Had an enjoyable start to our day with me teaching my eldest the art of candle making and getting her involved with weighing, heating and explaining all the science bits to her.

Her take on it? She loves it but it's boring because she had to wait for things to cool down 😂

She will get to keep one of the candles for her efforts, which she is happy about as these ones feature a gold mica colouring which is basically tiny gold glitter!

I think it's fun to share hobbies and interests with the kids as they grow, it gives them random bits of knowledge, acts as an Activity they can join in with, and also shows them how or why I enjoy things.

.. Candle making is not simple!

1. Not all wax is equal! The quality of your wax is going to affect your candle. Personally I use a high quality soy wax especially designed for use in containers to ensure a clean burn

2. Your wick matters. It's not just a case of a string through the middle. Too thick and it poses a fire risk from the candle not burning correctly, too small and it's going to create tunneling and half your wax not burning

3. Check your temperatures! The temp that you add fragrance will determine how well it holds, if you add while the wax is too hot you risk burning through the fragrance prematurely. Knowing when to pour the candle determines how smooth it sets, too hot or cold will cause problems such as sinkholes which can cause uneven burns and can be hazardous

4. Choose your containers carefully. You need to make sure that they are heat proof and that the fragrance and wax are not going to sleep through - unsealed ceramics or concrete need to be sealed, standard dinnerware such as mugs and glasses are not generally designed to hold up to high temperatures for long and can be a hazard due to cracking and shattering

5. Test burns are 100% necessary. Knowing how each batch of wax reacts with the different fragrances and wicks is essential

In the spirit of Autumn let's show off the Treacle toffe goats milk soap. A perfect warm scent designed for cosy evenings made with goats milk and added Shea butter for a lovely creamy finish

Finally managed to get these beauties up on the site!

I've not managed much over the last few weeks due to the chaos of a new baby, a hospital stay, and the general carnage that having 3 kids around generates.

I did manage to restock some of these beautiful candles though. A light musky fragrance with woody undertones and a finishing floral note of Jasmine. These are great for lightening the scent of a room without being too heavy and overpowering - a definite favourite when cleaning!
